The table of the piece is white lacquer , at thirty coats it is starting to look reasonable.
The portrait is near complete and here it is mounted for fit .
The hair , ribbons and floral hair decorations are being finished now.
The final stage will be to mount the portrait and then work it into the stand.
The wood dyes will be cleaned up , the white and black lacquer polished.
On the table will be a graphic on heavy rag stock , mounted on cork. To protect the whiter lacquer.
It’s been about a year and a half I believe , so far .Well worth it. Something to leave behind concerning me , my culture and my ancestors. The indigenous people of the islands of England.
